Show Affiliation

• The cost to affiliate with MeHJA is $35 per show. Please send a check for $35 x number of shows affiliating, along with proof of insurance, to:

  You can also send payment through PayPal to mainehjassn@gmail.com. Please add show name(s) and date(s) in payment notes. You must also email proof of insurance when paying via PayPal.

• Affiliated shows must provide proof of insurance in the amount of $1,000,000 General Liability which includes spectators on or about the grounds and must name MEHJA as an additional insured.

• A copy of the prize list for each show must be sent to MeHJA a minimum of 30 days before the show for review and approval. Failure to send prize list may result in cancellation of affiliation for that show with no affiliation payment refund given.

• Show results must be provided to MeHJA no later than 14 days after the show. These results must be in the form of MeHJA class cards (paper copies can be mailed or scanned and emailed), or you must fill out the MeHJA Show Result Reporting document (link below). No other forms of results will be accepted. Failure to submit results in a timely manner or in proper format will result in fines and ineligibility to affiliate future shows with MeHJA, and any current shows already affiliated will lose affiliation status.

• MeHJA strongly encourages shows to have a steward and/or veterinarian on the show grounds to address any protests or concerns about animal welfare. Show managers are required to notify MeHJA of any protests made, and/or decisions by the judge, steward or veterinarian to remove horse or pony from competition within 24 hours.
